The GBS Foundation was established in 2016 with the aim of obtaining financial support for the scientific research into GBS to improve the prospects of patients.
The Foundation (RSIN 856961899) is registered at the Chamber of Commerce in Rotterdam under number 67386539.
The Foundation has no profit motive and is registered as an ANBI.

The GBS Foundation is based in Rotterdam and the day-to-day management is formed by:
Prof. Dr. F.G.A. van der Meché
Chairman
Prof. Van der Meché is former head of the Neurology department and director / CFO of Erasmus MC. In the eighties of the last century he was the initiator of the GBS research at the Erasmus MC. The current treatment with immunoglobulins came about under his leadership.

Drs. S.P. Bertels is former CEO of Loyens & Loeff N.V.
Drs. C.A.C.M. Vehmeijer
Secretaris
Drs. C.A.C.M. Vehmeijer worked until 2002 at Generale Bank Nederland and Fortis Bank. He has been active as a financial adviser since 2002.
